The word “Awana” stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” and is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed.”

Awana teaches kids that God is real, that He loves them and that He has expressed His love through Jesus Christ. The goal of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. Awana was officially organized in 1950, and churches have sinced used Awana to reach youth worldwide.

Awana is a Children’s ministry and meets weekly on Wednesday evenings* during the school year from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. All children ages 3 (by the July 1st school cutoff date) to 6th grade are invited to join us in this wonderful program.

If you would like more information about the Awana program at Calvary Baptist Church, please contact the church office at 462-4586.
